Tunnels Beach is about 5 miles west of Hanalei in the Haena area. This underwater wonderland is reputed to be the best snorkling and skin diving, during the summer, on Kauai.

           It is known for all kinds of underwater features such as tunnels, arches, coral and tropical fish galore. Be careful as in all coral areas.

           It is a beautiful coast, but if biking to Tunnels from Hanalei, be aware that it is a narrow road and that there are several one-way bridges that have certain "rules" for crossing. Something like 5 cars go in one direction then the correct thing to do is let the other direction cars drive over the bridge. Only on popular days does there get to be 5 cars.

          Bicycles are a rarity on this road.
